On your lessons in the Waddon area, your instructor will know which areas to take you depending on your ability and lesson plan for that day. A Suitable area is required for each lesson plan to go to plan. For instants it’s no good doing your reversing lessons on a busy road, thus be unable to perform the exercise enough times to master it independently.

Lesson Plan: Moving away and stopping

Bring your License on your first moving off lesson so your instructor can view it. You will be driven somewhere quiet. Don’t worry before driving the car you will have a full understanding of the controls and procedures to be successful.

Lesson Plan: Crossroads

Crossroads in the Waddon area based around the Purley way area. M.S.P.S.L is the procedure that your instructor will teach here. You will need to look at parts of the junction that don’t have priority on  you. What if ? is the phrase here. Anticipation skills will be developed upon too.

Lesson Plan: Meeting traffic 

Meeting vehicles coming towards you on different types of roads can be difficult to master. A road in Waddon will have a different layout of parked cars one day to the next. Even so there are procedures to follow, one being defensive driving. Knowing M.S.P.S.L will help you master this subject.

Lesson Plan: Pedestrian crossings

Pedestrian crossings are limited in Waddon to a few zebra’s and light controlled crossings. You need to alert yourself to a crossing ahead, check mirrors, reduce speed, scan the crossing area, understand the zig-zag lines, stop in the safest way and move off safely.

Lesson Plan: Anticipation and Awareness

Anticipation is so important to safety on the roads. In towns you won’t be able to drive more than 20 meters without the possibility of a “what if” coming up. What if that parked car moves off or opens it’s door. What if that pedestrian runs out. In Waddon being a residential area it’s important to master anticipation.

Lesson Plan: Reversing exercises 

On your test and in future driving you will have to carry out either a turn in the road, reverse around a corner or reverse park. Waddon has a few areas to practise and your instructor will know where they are.
